Our client, an Insurance Broker based in Farnham are keen to hear from A-Level leavers or Graduates, who are interested in starting a career in the insurance industry.

Insurance brokers work on behalf of their clients, identifying and advising them on the risks that they face and how these risks can be minimised and insured. Our client is a forward-thinking and fast-growing Chartered Insurance Broker. Many of their managers and team leaders started as trainee brokers.
This broker use their specialist knowledge to find and arrange suitable insurance policies for their clients: which can be a small business, through to a big blue chip organisation.
Each of their Trainee Insurance Brokers is fully supported to succeed in their role and career. In addition to a generous starting salary of £20-23k, the trainee program allows you to learn quickly on the job, whilst studying to gain your professional CII (Chartered Insurance Institute) qualifications.
Their brokers complete the Certificate (Cert CII) and then can go on to achieve the Diploma (Dip CII) and finally the Associateship (ACII). They fund the cost of study materials and exams. They also allocate you with time, in work hours, to study for your Cert CII exams.
Professionalism is highly important to them here. They are Chartered Insurance Brokers, demonstrating the importance they place on professionalism and the service they provide. You will need to be pro-active in ensuring that a high quality service is provided to all clients at all times and to remain customer focused and embrace company ethics.
A typical day for a Trainee Insurance Broker here will involve:
- On the job learning and study.
- Speaking with prospective clients on the phone to gather information about their organisation & their insurance needs.
- Preparing risk presentations and negotiating with underwriters to find the most suitable insurance for clients at the best price. If they need property insurance this may involve researching their property online.
- Using our in-house quote systems to provide quotes to smaller organisations.
- Ensuring clients understand the terms and the extent of the cover in addition to ensuring they meet all requirements.
- Admin tasks such as recording notes on the progress of each quote you are working on.
