Bookkeeper/Finance Administrator (P/T Considered)
Due to continual growth an opportunity has arisen for a Finance Administrator to join a rapidly growing insurance group. They are looking for an experienced Finance Administrator (bookkeeper) to join their friendly team on permanent basis. The right candidate will pride themselves on providing a bookkeeping service to both of their offices located at Romford and Braxted Park. Therefore, you will ideally be a car driver, highly professional, knowledgeable and a real people-person.
They have recently acquired a small classic car insurance company based in Braxted in Essex, and e are in the process of integrating their systems over to theirs, so initially the successful candidate would be required to work in Braxted for a few days per week and the remainder at Romford , but it will be ultimately a Romford based position with 1 day per week at Braxted once this integration is completed.
They are looking for an experienced book keeper who will be able to run the whole book keeping process for the new arm of the business which is located at the Braxted site, but as the Company Finance Department is run from Romford the plan is that eventually once everything is streamlined you will be completing the work that needs to be carried out there and then assisting the wider group Finance team on the remaining days.
You will be responsible for providing a full range of finance administration and bookkeeping services within both offices. Duties for the role will include:
• Receive calls in a professional manner
• Maintaining client records
• Processing payments and refunds and dealing with direct debit agreements
• Reconciliation of Insurance Accounts
• Bank reconciliations and journal postings
• Cashbook, purchase and sales ledger maintenance
• Keeping Sage or Xero up to date
• Dealing with Petty Cash
• Invoicing
• VAT return preparation
• Meeting account deadlines
• Other clerical tasks as required
• Assisting Senior Management Accountant
Candidate requirements for the Finance Administrator (Bookkeeper) role are:
• Previous accounts / bookkeeping experience
• AAT qualified or qualified by experience
• Ability to use a variety of accountancy packages (Experience of Sage or Xero is preferable).
This role would suit people who also have the following experience: Accounts Assistant, Bookkeeping, Bookkeeper or Accounts Clerk.
The package on offer will be £20-22,000, Holiday is statutory (20), but increases after 3,5,7 & 9 years by a day for each increase
Childcare voucher scheme in operation. Attendance bonus – Maximum of £500 payable twice yearly £250 for full attendance, this is reduced by £50 per day for any sickness days that are taken during the period so if 5 days sick then no bonus would be payable, if 1-day sick then £200 would be received
The hours are full-time, but they will consider part time for the right candidate (Minimum 3 days per week). Full time hours are 37.5 hours per week.
